COVID-19: 35 Security Forces personnel among 387 test positive in J&K, tally rises to 9888 | KNO

Srinagar, July 10 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir have reached to 9888 as 387 more people including 12 SSB men, 3 soldiers and 20 CRPF men were reported tested positive for the deadly virus Friday. Official figures reveal that among new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on  Thursday 129 were tested positive at SKIMS, 46 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals. Among 387  new cases, 290 belong to Kashmir division while as 97 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 7994 including 4332 recoveries and 144 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 2094 including 1454 recoveries and 15  deaths. They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3943 including 3318 from Kashmir division and 625 from Jammu division. With 91 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 5786 which is 58.51 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 94 from Srinagar, 33 from Kulgam, 36 from Baramulla, 14 from Shopian, 11 from Anantnag, 34 from Kupwara, 47 from Pulwama, 06 from Budgam, 08 from Bandipora and 07 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 97 from Jammu division include 23 from Jammu, 07 from Kuthua, 11 from Ramban, 01 from Samba, 02 from Poonch, 51 from Rajouri and one each from Doda and Reasi, " officials disclosed. Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that out of 2659 samples were tested at SKIMS on Friday, 132 were tested positive positive. He said 129 new cases include 33 from Pulwama, 24 from Srinagar, 12 from Anantnag, 10 from Kulgam, 07 from Budgam, 06 from Bandipora, 02 from Kupwara and one from Baramulla. Patients also include 12 SSB personals, 20 CRPF personals, 3 Soliders from army camp Nowgam Kupwara and 2 beacon officials from 109 RCC Kupwara Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina told KNO that out of 394 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 62 including 46 from Shopian and 16 from Srinagar were tested positive. Officials from CD hospital said that new positive cases include 9 BSF men and 3 from BB Cantonment Srinagar As per officials figures, 1545 positive cases including 39 deaths and 494 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1251 including 31 deaths and 513 recoveries are from Baramulla, 963 including 647 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Kulgam, 887 including 15 deaths and 663 recoveries are from Shopian, 775 including 13 deaths and 591 recoveries are from Anantnag, 709 including 458 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Kupwara, 640 including 304 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Pulwama, 528 including 293 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Budgam, 336 including 283 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Bandipora, 160 including 80 recoveries and 01 death are from are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 452 including 322 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Jammu district, 298 including 246 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 272 including 206 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 254 including 206 recoveries are from Ramban, 218 including 137 recoveries from Samba, 139 including 117 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 240 including 01 death and 88 recoveries are from Rajouri, 124 including 68 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 53 including 39 recoveries are from Reasi and 44 including 25 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 308,537 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 38509 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3943 persons are in hospital isolation while 44 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 220,986 persons have completed surveillance period and 44,932 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 437,924 samples are available. Out of 437,929 the number of samples tested negative stands at 428,040 while as 9888 have been tested positive, among them 3943 are active and 5786 persons have recovered and 159 persons have died—(KNO)
